Summer 2007 Second ‘High-Def’ MRIAnne Arundel Diagnostics is scheduled to put its second 1.5 Tesla high-definition magnetic resonance (HDMR) unit online in July at the Sajak Pavilion. This is great news for our patients, because this second "high-def" MRI means you can have your test done sooner and get your results sooner, too. If you've seen the difference between regular TV and high-definition TV, you'll understand the difference between the MRI technology at AAD and ordinary MRI technology. The HDMR gives physicians diagnostic images of remarkable clarity and definition. This MRI is also a "short-bore" magnet, like our current MRI, which means the tube is not as long as previous models, providing our patients with a more comfortable scan. This great technology is only as great as the AAD radiology staff. All AAD radiologists are board-certified and have advanced training and a professional focus on interpreting specific kinds of MRI, from neurological to orthopedic.
