Spring 2008 Additional Digital Mammography at AAMC Breast Center A digital mammogram is better than standard mammography for women who have dense breast issue. In this image, the bright white spot indicates a malignant mass. Anne Arundel Diagnostics (AAD) has added a third digital mammography machine to the AAMC Breast Center at the Sajak Pavilion. Digital mammograms are taken the same way as film mammograms, but provide AAMC’s experienced radiologists with a crisper image and allow improvement in image storage and transmission. The digital technique is better than standard mammography for women under 50 and women who have dense breast tissue, particularly in terms of fewer callbacks for more views. AAD also will offer digital mammography at the new AAMC Health Services-Kent Island building thanks in large part to donations from Boston Buddies Ball charity, 1630 Main Street, Chester, Md.
