Summer 2008 Temporary Emergency Waiting Room Opens
The temporary entrance to the emergency room is shared with the entrance to the main hospital. Emergency room patients turn right to reach the triage registration desk. 
The triage registration desk. Emergency room patients register here.  The temporary emergency room waiting area will be in use until the new emergency room opens in early 2011. As part of AAMC’s campus growth, and to make way for construction of the new Acute Care Pavilion South, the emergency waiting room was relocated in mid-March. The public entrance to the emergency room now is shared with the main entrance of the hospital. The ambulance entrance behind the Acute Care Pavilion remains the same. Now that the emergency room parking lots are construction sites for the new emergency room and patient tower, patients and visitors should park in the main hospital garage. Free valet service for emergency patients also is available in front of the new emergency room entrance. The temporary emergency room will remain in place until the new emergency room and new patient tower are completed in early 2011 (see pp. 12–13 for more details).
