AAMC has opened its new 55,000-square-foot ambulatory care facility, AAMC Health Services – Kent Island, which features several AAMC specialty and primary care physicians; a walk-in, after-hours urgent care center operated by Johns Hopkins Community Physicians; and a full-service diagnostic radiology center operated by Anne Arundel Diagnostics. Located at 1630 Main Street in Chester, Md., on the north side of Route 50 at the Route 18 overpass, AAMC Health Services – Kent Island gives residents of the Eastern Shore more convenient access to AAMC physicians, and diagnostic and medical services. For more information, visit www.aahs.org, or call 443-481-4000. Pediatric Speech TherapyOutpatient pediatric speech-language therapy has been added to AAMC’s outpatient speech rehabilitation services. The new program is for children up to 5 years old with developmental delays, phonological disorders, or those who require fluency and voice services. These children may have speech-language delays due to recurrent ear infections, extended hospitalization, prematurity, or adverse socio-economic conditions. AAMC has created the new program as part of outpatient services on the lower floor of the AAMC Wayson Pavilion. The center offers a dedicated speech therapy treatment room and a pediatric gym for patients who require physical and/or occupational therapy in addition to speech therapy. The materials purchased to provide the pediatric speech therapy services were made possible by a donation made to the AAMC Foundation from a former adult patient. Patients need a prescription or referral from their physician based on their insurance. To learn more about this program, call 443-481-4080, or visit www.aahs.org. |
