This gift, from the foundation’s Employee Giving program, supports overall efforts to provide ongoing health care to the poor. In 2007, the foundation awarded the Outreach Center a three-year $180,000 grant to help uninsured and underserved residents access to free or low-cost prescription medications from major pharmaceutical companies. Annually, the Outreach Center handles approximately 5,000 patient visits from uninsured and underserved neighbors. Bill West, R.N., director of AAMC Wellness and Outreach Services, said, “When a project such as ours is included among the best charities in Maryland, we know that we’re standing alongside some of the best nonprofit ideas and practitioners in the United States. We are honored to be recognized for the exceptional culture of volunteerism and philanthropy that our physicians and dentists inspire.” AAMC Golf Tournament Raises More Than $300,000![]() The AAMC Foundation thanks the sponsors and participants of the 2008 AAMC Golf Classic, including to lead sponsors Whiting-Turner, CR Goodman Associates and L.R.
