Financial resources at AAMC for formal nursing education
Tuition Assistance – This benefit is available through Human Resources for all part time and full time employees. You are eligible for reimbursement up to $3000 per calendar year for classes dependent on your FTE. Submit a Tuition Assistance form and bill prior to each class to Human Resources then submit your letter grade with successful completion of the course to receive reimbursement. (HR8.6.02 – Tuition Assistance Program)
Project Advance for nurses –applications available late fall and spring and deadlines are December and June 15. This nursing grant allows $2,500 in additional financial support for an undergraduate degree (RN, BSN) and $3,500 for a graduate degree (MSN) per fiscal year if you are a part time or full time employee. Nursing Scholarships through the Foundation –applications are available in December and deadline is mid February. In 2014, the Foundation awarded 18 scholarships ($5000 per person) to participants enrolled in a nursing program that demonstrated financial need, outstanding academic achievement, career goals, and community service. You’re eligible once per degree while enrolled in an accredited nursing program. Contact Clinical Education and Professional Development or the Foundation for details.
AAMC partners with several schools, making going back to school even easier.
Notre Dame of Maryland University – Notre Dame of Maryland University classes are held on-site in a traditional classroom setting at AAMC. RN to BSN and RN to MSN programs are available. Staff are eligible for an additional $2,000 of tuition assistance from HR.
Drexel University – Through a partnership with Drexel University Online, AAMC employees and immediate family are entitled to receive a 10-25% tuition reduction on Drexel’s online degree and certificate programs. Receive the same quality education as on-campus, without the commute or career interruption. Drexel offers over 25 fully-accredited online nursing programs. Stevenson University – Stevenson University has a partnership with Anne Arundel Health System which includes a 20% tuition discount to employees who continue their education at Stevenson University in the adult undergraduate or graduate programs. Stevenson University’s innovative Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees are designed for working adults who want to complete their degree quickly and expand their career horizons. Many courses are offered in convenient 8 week sessions in hybrid, online or onsite formats (depending upon program) with six available start dates throughout the year. Walden University – AAMC staff receive a 15% tuition discount for Walden University’s online nursing program.
Chamberlain College of Nursing – AAMC employees can recieve a 15% discount on tuition at Chamberlain College of Nursing.
