Tuition Assistance Program (HR 8.6.02)
Offered by HR, this program provides reimbursement for courses taken at accredited institutions. Full-time employees are eligible to receive up to $3,000/year.
Nurses enrolled in the on-site, RN to BSN Program offered by the College of Notre Dame at AAMC are eligible to receive up to an additional $2,000/year for tuition expenses, a total of $5,000/year.
Who may apply? Regular, full-time, active employees who have completed an introductory (probationary) period and received approval from their Director. Regular, part-time employees who work at least 40 hours/pay period may also apply. Reimbursement will be prorated.

Professional Certification Program (HR 8.6.03)
HR can provide reimbursement for professional certification expenses and re-certification examinations.
Eligibility is the same as Tuition Assistance Program. Regular, full-time employees are eligible to receive combined benefit of certification and tuition expenses up to $3,000/year. Part-time employees may also apply.

Project Advance (HSCRC) Grant Scholarship Program
This grant provides financial and mentoring support for registered nurses enrolled in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, as well as non-nursing employees such as Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) enrolled in nursing school. Participants receive reimbursements for tuition, book, and certain essential supply expenses.
Note: Participants may apply for both Project Advance and the Tuition Assistance Program.
Funding provided by the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC).
To be eligible, staff must be employed by AAMC for six months or longer, work at least .5 FTE, have outstanding performance evaluations, and be enrolled in an accredited nursing program. Openings are limited.

AAMC Foundation Nursing Scholarship Awards
The Foundation provides scholarships for nursing and non-nursing staff enrolled in undergraduate and graduate degree nursing programs. Applications are available in January of each year and reviewed by the Foundation Scholarship Steering Committee—significant consideration is given to community service and financial need.
Scholarships are awarded by the AAMC Foundation at the annual Nurse’s Week dinner in May each year. Although the number and amount varies from year to year, generally thirteen $3,000.00 scholarships are awarded.
To be eligible, staff must be employed at AAMC for six months or longer, work at least .5 FTE, and have no disciplinary actions. Applicants must be actively enrolled in an accredited nursing program. Staff taking prerequisites for a nursing program are not eligible.
