Volunteer and Share the Joy!

Bayside Beacon Now Open

Stop by AAMC’s newest gift shop on campus – the Bayside Beacon – located in the new Health Sciences Pavilion. Housed on the second floor, this charming gift shop offers unique items for sale, as well as cards, balloons, flowers, jewelry, children’s toys and more. In addition, the Bayside Beacon houses a uniform store featuring the latest fashions in medical apparel.

The store is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cash, credit and payroll deduction available.

The gift shop is run by AAMC’s Auxiliary and all proceeds benefit the hospital. The Auxiliary was established as a volunteer group to serve the hospital. Auxiliary volunteers are an integral part of AAMC’s mission of providing patient-centered, high quality health care services to our community. Auxilians have also been instrumental in raising funds for many hospital projects.

.If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer, please call the Auxiliary Office at (443) 481-5050 to register for an Information Session. The session is about 1 hour long and will include an opportunity for you to ask questions of Auxiliary representatives and learn more about the volunteer services of the Auxiliary at AAMC.

The Auxiliary has over 500 active volunteers. These generous people give more than 130,000 hours of time per year. We offer an opportunity to give others a helping hand and a chance to make new friends. Our dynamic volunteers help in more than 22 services throughout the hospital.

Volunteers contribute in customer service areas assisting patients and visitors with information, in patient care areas assisting staff and visiting with patients, in the Gift Shop and Clothes Box and in our outreach clinic in downtown Annapolis.

Associate Volunteer Program

The Auxiliary’s Associate Volunteer Program is for those who cannot actively serve in the hospital but want to contribute to the work of the active volunteers. Through a small donation these Auxilians can stay in touch through the newsletter and attend social events. For further information, please call (443) 481-5055. You do not need to attend the Volunteer Information Session.

Volunteers at AAMC are asked to give one shift per week at a regular day and time. Accommodation is made for travel or other leave. The shifts are normally 9 am – 12:30 pm and 12:30 pm – 4 pm. There are limited opportunities for evening and weekend volunteer work. Volunteer assignments are based on the volunteer’s interest, schedule and the hospital’s needs.
