President, AAMC Foundation and Chief Development Officer
Jan Wood is president of the AAMC Foundation and chief development officer for Anne Arundel Medical Center. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Foundation as well as strategic and programmatic goals. Wood joined the Foundation in 2010 as director of major gifts. In November 2012, she was promoted to executive director.
Before joining AAMC, Wood owned a marketing consulting firm in Annapolis providing fundraising strategies and events, public relations, market analysis, and business development. She was public relations director and then vice president of marketing for several Maryland corporations, as well as serving as the owner and principal of a 23-member advertising and marketing firm and a national consulting firm. Her career includes work for an array of non-profit organizations such as Davis Memorial Goodwill Industries of Washington, DC, Hospice of the Chesapeake, Maryland Society for Sight, Wellness House of Annapolis and numerous private educational institutions in Maryland.
A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Wood holds a bachelor of arts in English and a bachelor of science in Journalism/Public Relations from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a 1997 graduate of Leadership Anne Arundel and a 2010 YWCA TWIN Honoree. Wood served on numerous boards of directors, including YWCA of Anne Arundel County, Anne Arundel Health System, Annapolis Walk-for-the-Cure, Annapolis Wellness House, Leadership Anne Arundel, Annapolis & Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce, Chesapeake Academy, and Hospice of the Chesapeake.« Back to Executive Biographies
