About This Blog
Anne Arundel Medical Center – or AAMC to our patients, their families, and visitors – is a 316-bed hospital located in the heart of Annapolis that provides primary and specialty care to a region comprised of more than a million Maryland residents.
AAMC specializes in women’s and children’s health care, joint and spine surgery, medical and surgical oncology, and heart and vascular health. More than 5,500 babies are born at our hospital each year, and our surgeons perform more than 20,000 surgeries each year. Oncology experts within the renowned Geaton and Joann DeCesaris Cancer Institute provide more than 24,000 treatment visits each year, and AAMC is also home to one of Maryland’s busiest emergency rooms, which experiences more than 77,000 visits annually.
Behind those numbers are our people, the AAMC experts who everyday make AAMC a true destination hospital.
The AAMC Health Connection blog is one way our experts can join the conversation with you, our patients and visitors, directly. The blog takes a dual approach, focusing on both nursing and general health care news. We think it will help you learn more about our hospital, and we hope, will help us learn more about the people we serve.
Thank you for visiting, and we look forward to the continued conversation with our readers. For more, we encourage you to visit our Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook pages.
