Gear Up: A Pre-Surgical Orientation Program for Breast Cancer Patients - Offered the second and fourth Thursday of every month from 11 am to 1 pm, 7th Floor, Belcher Pavilion. The workshop includes tips on anxiety management, education about what to expect on surgery day and information on lymphedema, including taking baseline arm measurements. Survivors Offering Support (SOS) Mentor Program - For those who would like to speak with someone who has already been through breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. You can be paired with a trained volunteer for “buddy support.” Survivors provide non-medical information and emotional support. To initiate this process, please complete a Mentor Request form and return it to the Center.
Forward After Cancer - This is an evidence based 6-session psychoeducational group for individuals who have completed breast cancer treatment. The focus is on moving back into life without cancer. Sessions focus on healthy life style, anxiety management, coping with fear of recurrence, and communicating with your healthcare team. This program is offered periodically throughout the year. Lose It. LIVE It! - This is an evidenced based 12-week weight loss program for Breast Cancer Survivors led by a Registered Dietitian. The program focuses on nourishing your body through food selection, behavioral change, and healthy lifestyle.
