Easy things that all women should do to help reduce the risk breast cancer:
Annual Exam
A complete physical each year promotes good health, and can incorporate a clinical breast exam, increasing the chances that breast cancer can be caught early.
Breast Self Exam
Monthly breast self exams starting at age 20 are important for early detection. If you are unsure about how to do a breast self exam, call the Breast Center for a consultation.
Mammograms
After ago 40, women should have a mammogram every year. Women who are at high risk should talk to the specialists at Anne Arundel Medical Center about a more tailored approach. All of our mammograms are read at the Breast Center by dedicated mammographers -- radiologists specially trained in interpreting mammograms.
