Nurse Navigators

Our nurse navigators are advocates who help patients access multidisciplinary treatment, communicate with primary care doctors and specialists, and translate and interpret complex care plans. Patients have the option to be assigned to a navigator in various specialty areas including breast, prostate, genitourinary, thoracic and gastrointestinal cancers, among others.

Navigators assist both patients and their families as a source of information and a comforting, consistent presence during a stressful time. They can provide guidance, support and direction, as well as help streamline care. For more information about our nurse navigator program, call 1-800-966-2619.

Matt LeBlanc

Matthew was born in Concord Massachusetts. He attended Clark University for undergraduate studies in Political Science earning a Bachelor of Arts in 2004. In 2009 he received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions.

Matthew began his nursing career in 2010 at Washington Hospital Center caring for Geriatric patients. Matthew was recruited to the Oncology Inpatient Unit at Anne Arundel Medical Center in 2012. While there he served as chair of the unit Quality Council where he was responsible for staff-led patient safety and quality initiatives.

Matthew's nursing expertise along with his compassionate and caring nature allowed him an opportunity to apply for a newly created position in Oncology Rehabilitation. Matthew was selected as Nurse Navigator by his peers, patient and family advisors and leadership. In his role as Nurse Navigator for Oncology Rehabilitation he works to insure that oncology patients receive high quality and much needed rehabilitation services.

Matthew is a strong advocate for Patient and Family Centered care and has been invited to speak to the Maryland Hospital Association and internally to many staff and physician groups at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
