BENEFITS SUMMARYAnne Arundel Medical Center Benefits SummaryVital Choices - AAMC's Flexible Benefit Program Allows employees to elect from various
benefit options based on their individual needs. Vital Choices offers
three different medical and dental plan options; vision, short & long
term disability plans, three life insurance options, and long term care
choices. Flexible spending accounts are also available. Benefits are paid
via payroll deduction; most are made on a before-tax basis. Holidays Six paid legal holidays per year paid to all regular full time employees. They include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Combined Leave Benefit (CLB) CLB hours are earned each pay period to
provide a reserve of paid time off for vacations, illness, injury, pregnancy,
or personal business. Accrual rate depends on length of service, hours
worked and category of employment. Shift Differential AAMC Employees -10% differential for evening
shift; 20% differential for night shift; 7% for weekend shift. Pathways
Employees - 8% differential for evening shift; 15% differential for night
shift; no differential for weekend shift Pension Plan AAMC offers a defined benefit plan that
provides an income (lump sum payment or annuity) to employees at early
(age 55), normal (age 65) or late retirement (after age 65). Employees
are vested after five full years of service during which they worked at
least 1,000 hours in each year. This program is totally paid for by AAMC
for its eligible employees. Thrift Plan - 403(b) and 401(a) Plans AAMC offers its employees the opportunity
to contribute to a Tax Sheltered Annuity Plan - 403(b) and 401(a) Plans.
Employees contribute up to 100% of pay, or up to $11,000, whichever is lower, on a before-tax
basis into the 403(b) Plan. If an employee is eligible, AAMC matches the
employee's contributions up to 4% of pay through the 401(a) Plan. The
matched amount is based on an employee's length of service. Employees
are partially vested in the employer matching contributions after three
years of credited service and fully vested after five years of credited
service. A year of credited service is a calendar year in which an employee
works 1,000 hours or more. Rollovers from other 403(b) and 401(a) Plans
are accepted. Loans and hardship withdrawals from the Thrift Plan 403(b)
account are permitted according to plan rules. Tuition Assistance Plan Tuition assistance is paid upon successful
completion of an approved course up to a maximum of $3,000 per year for
full time employees. Part time employees are eligible to receive a pro-rated
share of tuition assistance. Credit Union The NIH Federal Credit Union offers a full range of financial services including checking and savings accounts, loan programs, ATM accessibility and free bank by phone. Available to all employees. Service Award Program Annual presentation of awards recognizing length of service at five year increments. All regular full time and part time employees. Worker's Compensation Medical expenses and disability income for documented and compensable job related injuries. Available to all employees. Adoption Assistance Provides up to $2,000 in legal and/or other
placement fees associated with legal adoption. Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) Provides assistance and short-term counseling
for family, work or personal issues.
