Employment at Anne Arundel Medical Center

Nursing Graduate Internship

The Nursing Graduate Internship at Anne Arundel Medical Center is designed to provide a smooth transition as you embark on your professional nursing career.     This year-long program consists of:

  • continuing education through your first year of nursing
  • up to 12 weeks of preceptored orientation (16 weeks for some specialties) and
  • a mentor to provide support and assistance in your professional development

As a Nursing Graduate, it is important at this time in your career to find an environment that will allow you to feel secure and supported, yet challenged.  Anne Arundel Medical Center is known for its friendly staff, outstanding patient environment, cutting edge technology and progressive stance among the medical community.

The Nursing Graduate Internship is held in July and February each year.  The Nurse Graduate positions will be posted no later than March 1st for the July Internship and no later than November 1st for the February Internship.   Interested candidates can apply to positions of “Nurse Graduate” via our job postings page.  Candidates will be asked to provide two letters of reference from clinical instructors or practicum preceptors, transcripts from their school of nursing and current CPR certification (American Heart Association – Healthcare Provider required) at the time of interview.

Summer Student Nurse Opportunities

The summer student nurse program offers students who are actively enrolled in a Registered Nursing program to gain experience in the hospital setting as a Student Nurse Patient Care Technician II.   Students must have completed at least one clinical semester in their nursing program and have a current C.N.A. from the Maryland Board of Nursing as well as current CPR certification (American Heart Association – Healthcare Provider required).  The program begins in early June with a special orientation.  There are often opportunities for local students to continue working on a per diem or part-time basis when school resumes in the Fall.

As a Student Nurse Patient Care Technician II, you will provide direct patient care under the delegation of a registered nurse, which includes (but are not limited to) assisting patients with ADLs, vital signs, dressing changes, phlebotomy, finger sticks, foley catheter insertion, providing excellent customer service and in general learning more about how an acute care medical institution functions on a day-to-day basis.
