AAMC Vision 2010 Campus Expansion

One of the most significant changes of the AAMC Vision 2010 plan is a new, improved and expanded Emergency Department that will feature a separate area for pediatric patients. Currently, the AAMC Emergency Room is one of the busiest in the area, serving more than 70,000 patients each year.

2008 is a significant year for Emergency Department construction projects, and there are many changes taking place.

Most notably,

  • In March 2008, the new main entrance to the Emergency Room was moved to the main entrance of the Acute Care Pavilion. A new, temporary double door entrance leads directly into the new waiting room area.
  • The current Acute Care Pavilion entrance will remain as is. This shared entry area will remain until January 2011, when construction of the new Acute Care Pavilion and new Emergency Room is opened.
