Who: Anne Arundel Health System (www.aahs.org) What: Anne Arundel Health System is well underway with the implementation of the AAMC Vision 2010 strategic plan, which includes expanded clinical services, the addition of advanced technology, and an expansion of its medical staff and specialty options. This major expansion will allow AAMC to continue its growth as a destination health system, caring for patients from throughout the region. Highlights include:
This facilities and service expansion will provide much needed clinical and support space to help meet the needs of patients from throughout the region. In phase 2, AAMC expanded the hospital’s parking options and began construction of the Ambulatory Services Pavilion and its adjoining parking garage. In phase 3, AAMC began construction on its new patient tower that will add 50 additional private inpatient rooms and eight operating rooms. A new parking garage will be constructed and the AAMC emergency room will be expanded to include a dedicated pediatric emergency room. A new pediatric unit will also be added adjacent to the new pediatric emergency room. Anne Arundel Health System began in 1902 as a not-for-profit community hospital to serve the Maryland capital city of Annapolis.
