Growing Together
All of our expansion is critical
to providing even better
patient care. A highlight is the
expansion of our emergency
room, which includes a
new pediatrics emergency
department.
Three years after a temporary
setup to accommodate
construction, the emergency
department moved into its new
space. It includes two waiting
rooms, greeter/reception, eight
triage bays, blood draw stations,
and new treatment rooms.
The walk-in entrance is
on the east side of the building
(near the ambulance entrance).
In the new Pediatrics ED
youngsters under 18 receive
emergency treatment in an area
separate from adults. There
is a separate pediatric waiting
room with bright, child-friendly
décor.
Young patients who must be
admitted to the hospital won’t
have to be transported out of
the ED. They will be admitted
to the new inpatient unit in
the ED, which has 16 beds.
Pediatric hospitalist Dr. Michael
Clemmens is the director of the
pediatrics ED.
