Reaching Out to Neighbors in Need.
“The Outreach Center combines quality health care with a social cause – serving truly disadvantaged people – so that fits perfectly with our mission. Without a doubt, the Outreach Center is helping people who really need it. That means every dollar donated for the Center truly counts.”
- Brent Boone, The Friends Foundation Co-Founder and Current President
Anne Arundel Medical Center is well known for outstanding patient care within its walls. The greater Anne Arundel Health System is part of the fabric of our community. Those threads extend way beyond the main medical center campus to specialized community centers. These centers provide care to those underserved who might not otherwise seek help until they end up in the emergency room.
Many in our community go without proper healthcare due to lack of health insurance or lack of information about AAMC’s community based care programs. The Community Outreach Philanthropy Council is a team of individuals who are pulling their resources to support these important initiatives.
The Council is currently seeking new members and generous supporters who share a passion for community outreach to help weave a better external network of community-based clinics—a caring safety net for those friends and neighbors in need. The Council’s supports:
- The Community Health Center (CHC)—a doctor’s office providing low cost care to newborns, children, adults and seniors;
- The Stanton Center—a free medical clinic for the underserved and uninsured;
- Pathways—offering drug and alcohol treatment programs for adolescents and adults.
