The Anne Arundel Medical Center Laboratory offers a full range of diagnostic testing for inpatients and outpatients ranging from newborns to seniors. Laboratory services include chemistry, hematology, blood bank, microbiology, surgical and cytopathology, including on-site fine-needle or bone marrow biopsies and frozen sections.

For our patients' convenience, the Laboratory offers three locations for specimen collections. The Diagnostic Center on the first floor of the Hospital Pavilion is open for specimen collection during the week, with limited weekend hours. Most collection is done on a walk-in basis, but for some specialized procedures such as fine needle aspirations, patients will need to make an appointment.

Additional collection sites are located in the Sajak Pavilion, and AAMC Health Services-Kent Island. In addition to serving the AAMC Laboratory, these draw centers accept testing requests for Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp.

A Blood Donor Center is located in the Wayson Pavilion where qualifying autologous and directed donations are accepted in addition to volunteer donors.
