Please welcome Avedis Meneshian, M.D., to the surgical staff of the Anne Arundel Medical Center. Dr. Meneshian comes to AAMC from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSM) in Baltimore where he was an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the division of Thoracic Surgery, the director of Robotic Minimally-Invasive Thoracic Surgery, and the surgical director for the multi-disciplinary Lung Cancer Clinic. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Meneshian joins AAMC on August 1.
A fellowship trained surgeon, Dr. Meneshian completed the esophageal surgery fellowship program at Oxford University in Oxford, England, and the Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency Program at JHUSM. He also received his doctorate in medicine and completed his residency in general surgery at JHUSM. He graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor of science in biological sciences and a bachelor of arts in Spanish literature.
Dr. Meneshian is the author of 16 peer-reviewed papers and two book chapters. He is the recipient of the Lillehei/Bakken Award from the C. Walton and Richard C. Lillehei Surgical Society, and the George D. Zuidema Award for Research from Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine.
