The RPMI media has recently been altered to improve stability by adding a small amount of antibiotic.  This antibiotic may interfere with micro testing.  It is suggested that if you have a need for both pathology (flow cytometry) and microbiology, that you collect the micro separately in a red top sterile tube or use a sterile cup and sterile saline.  Any questions may be directed to microbiology at X 4200.
