WHAT: Anne Arundel Medical Center will host an educational health event to help women impacted by pelvic floor disorders to feel free to talk openly about these issues and learn more about them and treatments available.
The seminar aims to help women understand pelvic floor problems by empowering them with information, including current options for non-surgical procedures and minimally invasive surgical treatments to improve quality of life. The seminar is being presented in partnership with the American Urogynecologic Society.
WHY: New research* finds that 90 percent of Americans underestimate or are unsure about the prevalence of pelvic floor disorders, which impacts approximately one in three women at some point during their lives. This means many women who have pelvic floor disorders go untreated and suffer in silence.
