Anne Arundel Medical Center Welcomes New Board Members

(January 9, 2014)—Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) Board of Trustees has named new officers and three new members for 2014.

The new officers of the AAHS Board of Trustee are: Edward Gosselin, chair; Gary Jobson, vice chair; Leisa Russell, treasurer; and Maulik Joshi, Dr. PH, secretary.

New additions to the Board of Trustees include:

  • James Chambers – James Chambers is a private equity investor in various industries and serves as an operating partner at Summer Street Capital Partners. He is on the board of several privately held companies as well as Dickinson College. He is an active volunteer with the Y of Central Maryland, the Lighthouse Shelter and the Boys and Girls Clubs.

Chambers has previously served as president of Quest Diagnostics and has held several executive positions in the U.S. and abroad with Quest and Corning Incorporated.

Chambers earned a bachelor’s degree in history and political science at Dickinson College and his MBA in finance at Southern Methodist University. He also holds a master’s degree in international management from the Thunderbird School of International Management. A resident of Annapolis, Chambers is married to Niecy Chambers and has three daughters.

  • Patricia Darrow-Smith – Patricia Darrow-Smith co-founded White House Black Market, a specialty retailer of women’s clothing and accessories, in 1985. In 2003, the company was acquired by Chico’s FAS where Darrow-Smith continued as president for White House Black Market until 2007.

Prior to co-founding White House Black Market, Darrow-Smith worked for the Hyatt Hotels Corporation. She and her husband, Michael, founded Smith Retail Group and have consulted with such retailers as Lands’ End, Lilly Pulitzer, Cache, and South Moon Under.

Darrow-Smith’s other philanthropic endeavors have included volunteering for the YWCA, the Key School, the Light House Shelter, and many community events.

Darrow-Smith received a bachelor’s from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. She resides in Annapolis with her husband and children.

Kenneth Gummerson, MD, Alan Hyatt, Esq., Douglas Mitchell, MD, and Christina Baldwin O’Meara.
