ANNAPOLIS, Md. (August 24, 2012)— Nia Wright, RN, of Lanham, MD, has been named the senior director of Surgical Services at Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC). She is now responsible for operations in the Edwards Surgical Pavilion and the Endoscopy Suite. She also oversees operations in the Pre-Anesthesia Testing Center, the Surgical Preparation Unit, the Short Stay Unit, the Sterile Processing Department, the Post Anesthesia Care Unit and Operating Rooms.
Wright joined AAMC in 2010 as the clinical director is the Edwards Surgical Pavilion and the Endoscopy Unit. She is currently a member of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN), and the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International. Wright is also a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA). She also sits on a number of committees within the hospital, including the Patient Safety Committee, and the Cultural Diversity Initiative.
