AAMC Nurses are known for their involvement within our community. Our nurses have organized programs to introduce middle school and high school students to careers in healthcare, as well as educational offerings and screenings for community members. In this section, we’ll highlight these programs and the nurses whose passion for community outreach makes it all possible. 
 
You’ll also learn about an educational partnership that began with two nurses who were determined to meet the community’s need for skilled perioperative nurses.  From their research and collaboration, an introductory perioperative course offered to local undergraduate nursing students has evolved into what will soon become a multi-specialty community education partnership, the AAMC Nursing Institute.  Through this collaboration, we’ll ensure that AAMC is meeting the health care needs of our community, as well as meeting the ever increasing demand for trained specialized nurses.
