Preparing for you're appointment

We want your appointment at the Women's Center for Pelvic Health to go as smoothly as possible. Please arrive on time and bring your insurance card, a list of medications and a physician's referral if necessary. You are welcome to bring a family member for assistance if needed. To help you prepare, here are some answers to commonly asked questions:

What will the physician do during my first visit?

During the first 15 minutes, your physician will review your medical history and questionnaire. Next, a general health and pelvic exam will be conducted. Finally, you and your physician will sit down to review the exam's findings and discuss treatment options and next steps.

How long will my first appointment take?

Allow two hours for parking, registration, physician visit and exam and checkout. Keep in mind that this time may vary depending on the condition for which you are being treated.

What information do I need to bring to my first appointment?

Please bring your insurance card, a list of medications and a physician's referral if needed. Also bring with you any test results related to the condition for which you are being treated.

Do I need a referral to make an appointment?

Some insurance plans require a physician's referral. You will need to check with your insurance company for specific requirements. We can also help you determine if a referral is necessary.

What insurance plans do you accept?

Anne Arundel Medical Center participates in most insurance plans offered by Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia employers. Please contact your insurance carrier to determine if Anne Arundel Medical Center is a participating provider.
