A New Approach to Hip Replacement with Paul King, MD
In this edition of the AAMC Health Connection Podcast, we're joined by Paul King, M.D., an AAMC orthopedic surgeon and director of the AAMC Joint Center. Dr. King discusses a new approach to hip replacement – the direct anterior approach – which avoids the division of any hip muscles, resulting in faster recovery times and less post-operative pain.
This approach isn't appropriate for every patient. Each patient will be evaluated by a surgeon to determine the optimal surgical approach.
