Occassionally there are concerns that a child is not moving as they should for their age. Skills such as sitting, crawling and walking can be assessed by the Physical Therapist. Children who experience injuries from sports or accidents can be helped by a pediatric Physical Therapist.
AAMC's Speech-Language Therapists service children with impaired or delayed speech or language. Our Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation center features a special room for pediatric speech therapy. This room is child-friendly, with a large two-way mirror so that therapists can work individually with children while parents observe from the next room. This helps parents learn how to reinforce treatment strategies at home for maximum benefit.
