The Diabetes Center has certified diabetes educators (CDEs) to see patients who are newly diagnosed with diabetes or those who want to update their knowledge and improve their self-management skills. These people may have Type I, Type 2, or gestational diabetes. The hospital's program is designed to assist people with self-management skills so they can avoid the disabilities associated with diabetes.

The Diabetes Center offers individual counseling, education classes, free quarterly foot screenings and support groups to patients who are referred to them through the hospital or through primary care physicians. For information about the Diabetes Center, call (443) 481-5380.

The hospital also has a diabetes clinic at the Stanton Outreach Center in Annapolis that is open the third Thursday of every month, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. For information, call (443) 481-3599.
