Sessions
Monitored Exercise
Patients attend group exercise sessions three times per week and educational sessions. Each patient is under the care of the program's medical director, registered nurses, exercise physiologists, respiratory therapist and his or her own personal physician.
During exercise sessions, each patient's cardiac status, symptom management, and assessment with exercise are continuously monitored by telemetry. Regular progress reports are made available to the referring physician. Upon completion of the medically supervised exercise program, patients receive instruction on an individual maintenance exercise program.
Maintenance Exercise
These sessions held several times per week and offer continuation of group exercise in a maintenance program that is supervised by our highly qualified ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) trained staff.
Location
Sessions are held in AAMC's Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Center in the Donner Pavilion (2nd floor) at Medical Park.
Referrals
Patients are eligible for admission to the programs only upon written authorization by their personal physician. If you are interested, ask your physician if the Outpatient Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program will meet your recovery needs.
Payment
Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation is reimbursed by most insurance companies. The amount of coverage depends upon the individual policy. You should check with your insurance carrier.
