AAMC Spine Center Rehabilitation Services

AAMC offers the full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology Services. A staff of more than 40 therapists provide care for patients with a variety of diagnoses commonly referred from Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Orthopaedics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Oncology, ENT, Rheumatology, Gerontology and Pediatrics (selected diagnoses and ages). A physician's referral is required for all services.

Inpatient Rehabilitation

Inpatient Rehabilitation is located within the hospital setting and will be ordered by your physician or surgeon if needed during your hospital stay following your spine surgery.

Inpatient therapists evaluate patients at the bedside following surgery to determine treatment needs and rehabilitation discharge recommendations. Physical and occupational therapists instruct patients in safe mobility and proper techniques for performing activities of daily living to promote patient independence. In addition, a speech language pathologist may assess swallowing abilities and make diet recommendations following cervical surgery when needed.

Outpatient Rehabilitation
Your inpatient therapists and/or surgeons may recommend outpatient therapy services before your surgery or after you are discharged from the hospital.  Outpatient therapists evaluate patients in a clinic setting.  Physical and occupational therapists provide individualized treatment programs and education to improve a patient’s function, strength, and to help manage pain.

Physical, occupational and speech therapy services are available at one convenient site for those patients requiring more than one therapy.  Patients are seen by appointment Monday through Friday.

To schedule an appointment please call 443-481-4080 for Physical, Occupational and/or Speech Therapy services.

AAMC Outpatient Rehabilitation Center is located on the ground floor of the Wayson Pavilion in Suite G-10.  Parking is available in the Wayson Garage or the Acute Care Pavilion Garage.
