AAMC’s Joint Surgery team utilizes the most advanced treatment modalities to provide comprehensive care for patients with joint conditions. At the AAMC Joint Center, we help patients alleviate pain and restore their active lifestyles by providing a dedicated hospital unit with professional staff focused solely on joint replacement surgery.

Our surgeons specialize in all types of joint surgery, employing advance surgical techniques including less invasive and minimally invasive partial joint replacements, and new long-lasting replacement materials to produce optimum outcomes and rapid recovery.  AAMC’s joint surgeons perform nearly 1,300 joint replacements per year; that’s more than any hospital in Maryland in three of the past four years.

Our joint surgery team treats conditions such as arthritis of the knee and hip, degenerative joint conditions, and fractures, among many others.  Surgical procedures include total knee, shoulder and hip replacement; repair of fractures; arthroscopic services for knee, shoulder and ankle; knee, shoulder and hip reconstruction; and procedures for the repair of many other elbow, foot, and hand conditions.

Our joint surgeons also coordinate patients’ care with a multidisciplinary team of specialists as needed, to provide the most comprehensive services.
