CEO Message
November / December

It has been a year of amazing accomplishments and change for our health system. In July, our
seven-story Health Sciences Pavilion opened, one of the major highlights of our expansion
project. In late September, the final beam was raised for the new eight-story Acute Care South
Tower. The shape of the new structure already is clear for all to see.
There is much to be proud of inside our walls, too. AAMC received the 2009/2010 Outstanding Patient Experience Award from
HealthGrades, a direct acknowledgement of the dedication and care delivered by all our employees. The Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Cancer Institute was awarded the Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award. An unprecedented 85 percent of
our employees completed the Employee Opinion Survey.
In October, Tori Bayless began her new role as President and COO of Anne Arundel Health System. I look forward to working
with her as we complete our Vision 2010 strategic plan with the opening of our new tower.
In December, we will secure our place as a leader in the region by embracing next-generation technology when we go live
with Alec, our new electronic medical record system.
This year we worked through many economic challenges, and I want to thank each of you for your team effort and understanding in what was a difficult financial time.
As we head into the holidays, I encourage you take time to celebrate with family, friends and co-workers. Best wishes for
a peaceful and happy holiday season. |
