Reception Desk

Volunteers working at the Reception Desk are often the first contact the public has with our hospital. This first impression is very important. Volunteers answer the phones, assist patients and families with registering and locating testing areas. Volunteers also assist visitors in locating patients they wish to visit.

Short Stay Service And Surgical Waiting Room Service
Volunteers on these services assist family and friends of patients who are having same day surgery. They make coffee, pass along messages from doctors, compile patient charts, communicate concerns of the family to nurses, maintain a log of where family members can be reached and direct family to patient's room after surgery.

Greeter Service

The Volunteers on this service welcome and greet all individuals arriving or leaving the hospital via the main entrance. They assist individuals in and out of cars and wheelchairs, direct the public to the Reception Desk, assist with taxi cab or special vehicle pickup, provide information on location and directions to various places both in and out of the hospital and work closely with Reception Desk and Security personnel.

Flower And Library Service

Volunteers deliver mail, flowers and fruit baskets to patients and maintain a Library Cart stocked with donated books and magazines. The cart is taken around to patients daily.
