Greeting the Public

Greeters and Reception Desks

Greeters work at reception desks on buildings across campus. They help visitors find their way around the hospital, assist them in and out of cars and wheelchairs, and help with taxi and special transportation pick-up. These volunteers also help visitors locate patients they would like to visit.

Short Stay and Surgical Waiting Room

Volunteers in these services assist family and friends of patients who are having same day surgery. They make coffee, pass along messages from doctors, compile patient charts, communicate concerns of the family to nurses, maintain a log of where family members can be reached and direct family to patient's room after surgery.
