AAMC Lactation ServicesFor a Successful Breastfeeding Experience
For women who choose to breastfeed their babies, AAMC’s Lactation Services is a special resource. Our lactation staff is committed to supporting your individual needs and providing information about all aspects of your breastfeeding experience. Our International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) are also all registered nurses and together have many years of experience guiding moms and babies. Even before your baby is born, the lactation staff is available to answer questions you might have about infant feeding. You can reach our consultants via the WARMline at 443-481-6977. We also offer breastfeeding classes, taught by lactation consultants, to provide you with the information needed for the best start. After baby has arrived, the lactation consultants, along with members of your health care team, will provide individualized support as needed to help you reach your breastfeeding goals. Questions don’t end at discharge and neither does your support. Options include continued support via the WARMline (available 7 days a week with return calls between 9AM and 4PM); an individual appointment with a lactation consultant; numerous mother to mother support groups, including a Back to Work support group which is available to meet the unique needs of the mom returning to work. We encourage you to contact a member of our staff for further information. |
