AAMC's NICU: Caring for Special InfantsThe AAMC State-Of-The_Art Level IIIB NICU (Image Gallery)Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, or NICU, is an intensive care unit for newborns who need specialized treatment. As the only hospital in the county with a Level IIIB NICU, AAMC provides life-supporting care to premature and critically ill infants. Whether your baby is born early or experiences difficulties during delivery or soon after birth, he or she will receive comprehensive services provided by neonatal experts and nurses with extensive training in neonatal nursing care. The unit has 20 private rooms to provide privacy for patients, their parents and families. We encourage parents to bond and spend time with their babies 24 hours a day. Our staff will help you determine the best schedule for other family members to visit, depending on baby’s schedule and needs.
