• Cancer Care

A cancer diagnosis is life changing. Your focus becomes doing everything possible to beat the disease. At Anne Arundel Medical Center, we share your focus. As the region’s leader in cancer care, we work hard every day to provide patient- and family-centered cancer care, using the latest technologies, treatments and clinical research. We’re in this fight with you.

  • Cancer Care During COVID-19

Your health and safety are our top priority, and the way we care for you has been adjusted to safely meet your needs during this time. We know you may have concerns, and we are safe, ready and open to continue caring for you, providing access to chemotherapy treatments, radiation treatments and most cancer surgeries.

  • We are Open for Treatment

Our treatment centers are operating under normal hours. All physician practices within the Decesaris Cancer Institute (DCI) are seeing patients through telehealth services, but are able to see patients when needed in person.

  • Cancer Patients at Greatest Risk of Contracting COVID-19

In general, patients with blood malignancies (non-Hodgkin lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, acute lymphoblastic leukemia and multiple myeloma) and those who have received bone marrow transplants, are most vulnerable of contracting COVID-19 because they have immune deficiencies.

Patients who are in active treatment including surgery, chemotherapy or radiation for any type of cancer are also at risk. We are taking all necessary steps to reduce risks while continuing to treat your cancer.

If you are a DCI patient with symptoms and need to be tested for COVID-19, please call your doctor. Your doctor will assess your symptoms and determine if testing is needed.

Our physicians use a multidisciplinary approach, bringing together clinicians from varied specialties and departments to ensure you receive care for your whole body and mind, not just the cancer. With complete preventive, diagnostic and supportive care before and after treatment, you and your family can count on total cancer care.
