• Student Volunteers

    Thank you for applying for a student volunteer position with Anne Arundel Medical Center for Summer 2020.

    As you are aware, the COVID-19 pandemic altered many schedules and programs this spring. Our current student volunteer program suspended on March 17, 2020.

    It is possible the student volunteer program for summer will be impacted by guidelines and recommendations from the CDC, Maryland state government, AAMC leadership and local school systems, colleges and universities. We will review applications received by the posted deadline and keep all applicants informed of next steps. Thank you again for your interest in volunteering with Anne Arundel Medical Center.

    • Must be 16 years of age or older by semester start date
    • Able to commit to at least three hours per week of volunteering in an assigned placement for an entire semester (fall, spring or summer)
    • Available to attend required orientation
    • Provide documentation of required immunizations, including, but not limited to, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Flu (current year), and Tuberculosis screen
    • Friendly, compassionate, attentive and willing to learn
    • Submit completed application by the semester due date (including unofficial transcript for all students and two letters of recommendation for high school students)

     

    Anne Arundel Medical Center proudly offers a student volunteer program in various departments throughout the hospital. Students with an interest in medicine, physical therapy, business, finance, retail, marketing, fashion, merchandising, event planning, philanthropy, technology, customer service and more should submit an application. Applications are accepted for the fall, spring and summer semesters.

    Fall: 
    August 1 for September start date
    September 1 for October start date

    Spring:
    December 1 for January start date
    January 1 for February start date

    Summer: 
    April 1 for May start date
    May 1 for June start date

    The summer 2020 student volunteer/intern application can be completed online. In addition to completing the application, applicants must submit documentation of required immunizations and an unofficial transcript or report card. High school students must provide two letters of recommendation (suggested recommendation format).

    1. Complete student volunteer/intern application and immunization requirements and return by the deadline. Be sure to include your specific availability in your application.
    2. If selected, you will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator via email regarding next steps.
    3. All student volunteers/interns will be required to attend a student volunteer orientation. Students will learn about AAMC culture, policies, procedures, and the expectations of the student volunteer/intern program.
    4. Attend scheduled department training and begin volunteering/interning.
