• Satisfaction Measures

This data represents how patients' perspectives of their inpatient care at Anne Arundel Medical Center compare to state and national averages. Instead of asking how satisfied patients were with their care, the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey asks patients how often their care team provided different aspects of care: never, sometimes, usually or always. Only the information about whether a particular action "always" occurred is reported on the Hospital Compare website. These surveys are conducted on a completely random basis per HCAHPS federal guidelines.

These scores reflect patient experiences in inpatient units such as Acute Care for the Elderly, Center for Spine Surgery, General Surgery, Heart & Vascular, Joint Replacement Center, Maternity (Mother/Baby, Labor & Delivery, Antepartum), Med-Surg, Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), Neurocare, Observation, Oncology, Pediatrics, 4 Medical and Intensive Care Unit/Intermediate Care Unit.
