Hamid Reza Zahiri, DO, received his Medical Degree from Midwestern University-Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007. He underwent his general surgery training at University of Maryland Medical System, finishing that program in 2014. He completed a two year (one year research and one year clinical) fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) in 2016. Upon completion of his fellowship, he became an attending surgeon with Surgical Specialists of AAMC. Dr. Zahiri’s treatment philosophy is to provide the most advanced care to patients in the safest and most compassionate fashion. Dr. Zahiri is a board certified surgeon, a member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He specializes in general and minimally invasive surgery and has a special interest in hernia repair and abdominal wall reconstruction, inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease and hiatal hernias. Dr. Zahiri’s treatment philosophy is to provide the most advanced care to patients in the safest and most compassionate fashion.
